Please join us for the next HPC meeting on Thursday, March 8, at 8:35 am in Ellen Driscoll (please note the date and time change from the original August calendar). Our 2 guest speakers for the meeting will be Piedmont Recreation Director Sara Lillevand, who will provide an update on the Schoolmates Program for next year and ask for input on some outstanding issues; and Piedmont City Council Member Jennifer Cavenaugh, who will discuss ongoing work that the City Council and PUSD are doing together. In addition, Anne Dolid will give her Principal’s Report, and we will hear from various board committees. If you haven’t attended an HPC meeting this year, there are only a few more left, so take advantage of Thursday’s opportunity. Look forward to seeing you at the meeting.
By now you should have received a request via your Room Parent to help with a silent auction item for the Spring Fling Gala on April 20. Grades TK-2 have been asked to assemble a Wine & Cheese Basket that includes several bottles of wine, gift certificates to wine and cheese shops, and fun accoutrements like fancy corkscrews, cheese boards, and crackers. Grades 3-5 have been asked to put together a Restaurant Gift Card Basket that includes gift cards for local Bay Area eateries as well as for Lyft and/or Uber. All proceeds for the silent auction go to our 3 elementary schools, so please contribute to the baskets if you are able. Thanks for your support, and thank you, Havens Spring Fling Representative Teebie Saunders, for leading this effort.
With only 12 weeks left in this school year, recruitment for the 2018-2019 HPC Board is kicking into high gear. If you would like to learn about various positions and teams on the board and how to get involved, please contact Vice President (and incoming President) Laura Amen (email@example.com) or me (firstname.lastname@example.org) at your earliest convenience.
Thanks and see you on Thursday morning,
